ACI IUT Student Chapter has received the American Concrete Institute (ACI) University award in Excellent University category for the second time in 2021. Furthermore, the distinctiveness of the feat has been heightened as this was the second ACI University Awards of the ACI IUT Student Chapter since its inception on May 04, 2020. The ACI Award for University Student Activities recognizes the universities that qualify for excellent status (12 or more points) or outstanding status (6 to 11 points), based on points received for their participation in select ACI-related activities/programs. Fifty-three universities received Excellent status, and thirty-three received Outstanding status, including universities in Canada, Egypt, USA, India, and Guatemala during the 2021 ACI University Awards.
At present, there are five ACI Student Chapters in Bangladesh - Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET), Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology (CUET), International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT), Islamic University of Technology (IUT) and University of Asia Pacific student chapter. Among them the ACI IUT Student Chapter is the first to attain back-to-back Excellent University Status.
The honorable Faculty Advisor Dr. Md. Tarek Uddin, along with the team deserves due applause for this exemplary accomplishment. This year ACI IUT Student Chapter organized different activities starting from hosting informative webinars, distribution of winter clothing to arranging intra competitions for the first time. The chapter arranged seminars and webinars ensuring active participation from both the national and international arena. Among the seminars, the most notable one which received worldwide acclaim was conducted by our honorable Faculty Advisor Dr. Md. Tarek Uddin.
