Dr. Md. Imran Kabir

Dr. Md. Imran
Kabir, is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Civil and Environmental
Engineering of Islamic University of Technology (IUT), Gazipur. He completed his
Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Civil Engineering from Bangladesh University of
Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 2013. He received his Master of Applied
Science (M.A.Sc.) in Structural Engineering from Concordia University, Canada
in 2016 and PhD in Structural Engineering from The University of New South Wales
(UNSW), Australia in 2021. He has worked with Western Sydney University as a
research assistant in a collaborative project of Defence and Science
Technology, Australia. Dr. Kabir has also worked
for the Department of Civil Engineering at Stamford University of Bangladesh
from 2013 to 2017. He briefly served as a part-time faculty in the Department
of Civil and Environmental Engineering of North South University. He has more
than 5 years of expertise on numerical modelling of steel and composite beams under
various types of loading. His main research interests include stability
analysis of steel structure; use of high strength steel and engineered
cementitious composites in structural engineering; and sustainable building structure system. Dr. Kabir
authored several well-cited publications in top-tier journals and conferences by
JCSR, ES, CJCE, CSCE, SSRC Annual Stability Conference, Nordic Steel
Construction Conference etc.
