Dr. Md. Imran Kabir
Associate Professor
Dr. Md. Imran Kabir, is an Associate Professor at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of Islamic University of Technology (IUT), Gazipur. He earned his Ph.D. in Structural Engineering from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Australia, in 2021, M.A.Sc. from Concordia University, Canada, in 2016, and B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 2013. Prior to his current appointment, Dr. Kabir worked as a post-doctoral research assistant to a collaborative project between Western Sydney University, Australia and the Defence Science and Technology Group in Australia. His academic career also includes a faculty position at Stamford University Bangladesh from 2013 to 2017. As a researcher, he specializes in the application of advanced computational techniques to structural engineering, with a primary focus on the finite element (FE) modeling, simulation, and stability analysis of steel and steel-concrete composite structures under diverse loading conditions. Additionally, his expertise encompasses the development, characterization, and practical application of Fiber-Reinforced Cementitious Composites (FRCCs) to advance sustainable building systems. Dr. Kabir’s scholarly contributions have been widely recognized and highly cited across top-tier international journals and conferences, including the Journal of Constructional Steel Research (JCSR), Engineering Structures (ES), Canadian Journal of Civil Engineering (CJCE), and the SSRC Annual Stability Conference.
