Engineering has been an aspect of life since the beginnings of human existence. And civil engineering is the second-oldest engineering discipline after military engineering. Civil engineering is a professional engineering discipline which is traditionally broken into a number of sub-disciplines and deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including works like roads, bridges, canals, dams, and buildings. 

Department of CEE has started its journey in 2008 with the aim of development of highly qualified civil and environmental engineers who will help to improve the quality of life, meet the needs of industry and government, and contribute to the economic competitiveness locally and internationally. The CEE strives to attain a level of research and scholarly productivity befitting a major research university and warranting national and international recognition for excellence. Since its establishment the department is focusing on continuous improvement of quality of education through development of highly qualified faculties and staffs; development of laboratory facilities for research works; getting best quality students at the intake; continuous monitoring and evaluation of the students, encouraging students to participate in the extra-curricular activities; getting feedback regarding alumni’s from the employer; continuous up gradation of syllabus; collaboration with industries and universities; accreditation of the programs by local and international boards/authorities, etc.Educate students in fundamental concepts, critical thinking, technical skills, and principles as applied to engineering analysis and sustainable design.
