Biography

Dr. Moinul Hossain is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of Islamic University of Technology (IUT), Dhaka, Bangladesh. Before joining IUT, he worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Asia Pacific in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He was also associated with the Department of Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry at the University of Toronto as an Adjunct Professor. His specialization and research interests lie in the fields of city planning, transportation engineering and technology development for the developing world. He has a Doctor of Philosophy and a Master of Engineering degree in Built Environment from Tokyo Institute of Technology (Japan) and another Master of engineering degree in Transportation Engineering from Asian Institute of Technology (Thailand). He has served as researcher, consultant or principal investigator on major projects, such as, development of the road safety database management system for Thailand Accident Research Center, data collection and travel demand forecasting of the first Dhaka elevated expressway (client: Systra-MVA Asia), developing an evaluation framework for sustainable urban land use (client: South Asia Network for Economic Research Institutes), development of a nationwide vehicle tracking system for Bangladesh, etc.
